The Patriot Invitational prides itself on scoring as fair as possible by basing the judges sheet off of the VBODA State Marching Festival Rubric and the VBODA Final Judges Sheet.

The captions are scored as follows:
- Marching Execution: 200 points
- Music Execution: 400 points
- General Effect: 200 points
- Percussion: 100 points
- Color Guard: 100 points
