- General Effect
- Marching
- Percussion
- Color Guard
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Overall Awards are given in each Class as well.
Five Overall Awards are given:
- Best Pit Crew
- 3rd Place Overall
- 2nd Place Overall
- Jimmy Collins Overall Percussion Award*
- Anne Collins Memorial Grand Champion Award**
The Jimmy Collins Overall Percussion Award
The Jimmy Collins Overall Percussion Award was named for a graduated Percussionist of Denbigh High School. Jimmy Collins unexpectantly left us far too soon on October 22, 2005. Jimmy was a very special person to many of the members of the Band and Band Boosters. He dedicated himself to the Band’s percussion section, while being an Eagle Scout and graduating near the top of his class. He was a friend to so many of us and his absence is felt by his friends and family within our community.
The Anne Collins Memorial Grand Champion Award
In 2002, the DHS Band Boosters renamed the Overall Grand Champion Award to the Anne Collins Memorial Award. This change was to honor someone very special to our Booster Organization and our Band Students. On August 29, 2002, Anne Collins lost her battle with lung cancer. She was a very special person to many of us and devoted much of her time and energy to the DHS Band Program. She was a friend to all of us, and her absence is felt both by the students and parents within our organization and the community.
