The 8th Annual Patriot Invitational
The Patriot Invitational was innaugurated in 2001 by the Director at the time, Mr. Chris Smith, as an exciting, competitive, and enjoyable competition experience. The Patriot Invitational, Denbigh High School Band Boosters, Denbigh High School Band, and the Director, Mr. Chris Ward pride themselves on hosting a fair, and highly enjoyable competition experience.
The competition is hosted each year at John B. Todd Stadium in Newport News, Virginia (Directions). The students of the Denbigh High School Band and the Band Booster Association run the competition offering a variety of opportunities for enjoyment for the spectator, director, and musician. Bands are kept on a tight performance schedule, but there is always time for a quick snack from the Band Boosters Bake Sale or the Todd Stadium Concession Stand. Airgrams are offered as a chance to give a "shout out" to your favorite band, band student, or staff member. The performances are recorded and DVD's are for sale of your favorite band, class, or for the whole day's festivities!
