Mr. Christopher Ward
Director of Bands
Christopher Ward is the current band director at his alma mater, Denbigh High School, where he oversees a music program that includes a competitive marching band, concert band, symphonic band, and jazz band. Previously, Mr. Ward has been employed as a professional trumpet player working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Spirit Cruise Lines, Busch Gardens Europe, The Rockafellar Orchestra, American Big Band Touring Show, and the Williamsburg Classic Swing Orchestra, to name a few. He is currently a member of the local cover band, Hot House, and teaches private trumpet lessons through First Baptist Church of Newport News’ School of Music.
Mr. Ward earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Christopher Newport University as an instrumental music education major and is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Teaching degree at CNU as well.
